Product Description : "Times Too.” The CD (as prompted by the title) is a double disk set. One CD is much more "jazz” with lots of straight ahead instrumentals and the other has mainly my vocal tunes. Blood Count was a golden song of Billy Strayhorn’s that is not as well known. However, its one of those tunes that you hear and realize what a gem it is. That’s what happened to me. I heard it was the last song he composed while on his bed in the hospital. The nurses kept coming in to take his blood count, he had cancer. Another Billy Strayhorn tune I recorded on this CD is, "Isfahan”. a song that is so beautiful and one I still play today.
Most of the vocal tunes I wrote were works in progress I had been doing that year. Some of them are much more "poppy” but there’s a very wide range from more abstract stuff ,Time Tickin’ Away, to a total rock out calypso New Found Beat.
